The Aerolite 103 is an Experimental single-seat ultralight supplied as a Quick-Build Kit that you can assemble yourself in less than 50 hours. Australia does not have an equivalent standard to the U.S FAR 103, instead we have Ultralight regulations set by CASA and administrated by RAAus. The great news is that we are not limited to a maximum weight of 115 kg. For this reason, Swish Projects has simplified the ordering process so that all kits will ship with the larger and more powerful Hirth 23 (50 HP) engine and carry twice the standard fuel of only 5 Gallons – we get 10 gallons. The other difference is that here in Australia you will need to register your aircraft and you will need to receive formal pilot training and certification before operating it. You can VH- register or RAAus register this aircraft.
Each Aerolite is supplied with a Factory Built Airframe, featuring your choice of colour(s), a Hirth F23 (50HP) engine package (mount, hardware, throttle cable, electric starter, battery etc), 2 Blade Tennessee Propeller, Nose Fairing & Windscreen, Complete Panel with basic flight and engine instrument (airspeed, altimeter, slip indicator, tachometer, EGT, CHT), Electric Flaps, Shock Absorbing Main Gear, Steerable Nose Wheel with Suspension, Four-point Restraint System, 10 Gallon (37 litre) Aluminium Fuel Tank, Dacron Covering, Azusa Brakes, and a Fully Anodized Airframe.
The documentation that you will receive with your Quick Build Kit is absolutely first-class. You will not have any difficulties assembling this aircraft yourself – but if you do have any difficulties you can contact Swish Projects or Aerolite 103 at the factory any time.
